The official opening of Cinta Baca Bau-Bau was officiated by the mayor of Bau-Bau on January 22, 2011. This is the beginning of CB South Sulawesi a new region for Cinta Baca and includes the provinces of Sulawesi Selatan & Sulawesi Tenggara. While the regional office for this region will be in Makasar, CB Bau-Bau has become the first City library in this region. This is because the enthusiasm and encouragement of the local government and the local community is very strong.
In 2011, CB plans to open two City Libraries, one in Bau-Bau and the other in Makassar along with one village library in Raha and 28 reading posts spread out in the region.
