Cinta Baca Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi worked together with students of the Dayanu Ikhsanudin Islamic University to increase literacy among children in the Batubunawa village. Cinta Baca Baubau lent the students 50 books for them to bring to the village for one month. It took them 30 minutes by ferry and 2 hours by motorcycle to reach the village from Baubau. On September 9th Cinta Baca staff went to visit the students and held a storytelling program for the children. Fifty children went to hear the story of Olwen Twelve Pockets. The Cinta Baca staff spent some time with the head of the village to share about Cinta Baca and the importance of reading for children.
