Last Thursday, October 9th 2014 I went to Korean Night at Cinta Baca. Maybe people still ask me what is Cinta Baca. Cinta Baca is a non profit organization which is helping children in education especially to open their mind to know new things by reading a book. Cinta Baca has many activities like storytelling, English Club, and much more. Sometimes people from the other countries come to Cinta Baca and they volunteer. They also introduce their country and culture so we can get known each other, like at the Korean Night.
Korean Night was the greatest event that Cinta Baca has ever done. The event started at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.. It opened by introducing what Cinta Baca is and then there wa a Korean dance performed by Ratu from Regina Pacis Junior High School. After that, one of the Korean tourist did a presentation for us about his country. From his presentation the audience learned a lot about Korea including things like K-Pop style, food and much more..
This event was a bit different than previous events. We made three groups and each group went on tour. On the tour we learned about Korean language, Korean food, and we took pictures with Korean traditional clothes named Hanbok. In the language class we studied about how to greet people in Korean which is different for older and younger people. And then in cooking class, we learned how to make japchae and we can try some of delicious Korean food like kimchi and kimbap. At the end of the tour we took some more picture with hanbok. This season is the favorite season of the tour.
Everyone at the event really enjoyed themselves. Andy and Ibu Sinta, two Indonesian participants shared their feelings about this event. They said that they felt so happy to know more about Korea and they think that Korean people are so nice and friendly. The Korean visitors also thanked the audience for their coming and for their enthusiasm about Korea. At the end of this event Ibu Dian from Cinta Baca gave an announcement about the Korean course in Cinta Baca on November. This Korean Night closed with a group photo and then everyone went back home with a smile on their face.
