Cinta Baca Foundation, partnering withlocal government, religious leaders, and the community, always improves reading habits among Indonesian children.

On Saturday, February 27th, Cinta Baca Manokwari, Erikson Tritt Theological School, and Literature and Publishing Department of the General Assembly of the Christian Bible Fellowship Church Indonesia (GPKAI) held a Developing Reading Habits Seminar and Workshop in the KNPI building at West Papua. During the event, 130 parents, teachers, and observers attended.

Edi Budoyo, Manokwari Vice Regent who came to open the event, responded well. “Children are our future generation. Their lack of reading interest is affecting their education; in addition, gadgets play a big role in it.” State Edi Budoyo in his opening speech “All kinds of activities to develop Manokwari children’s reading interest should be done because many influences from society are lowering their reading interest.”

Ronni Marbun, Cinta Baca Manokwari Regional Leader, trained the participants how to read books for children in fun ways, using 25 storybooks from Big Books – Pelangi Indonesia. After that, they were asked to do storytelling stimulation. They also asked to implement what they have learned in their region.
