The city of Palembang is truly beginning to realize its vision of becoming an International City. Recently a short term visiting team from the US was permitted to hold a “Speak English Day” in two Islamic schools in Palembang and the community in each location received them with great enthusiaism.
This is a positive sign that Cinta Baca is opening doors in the world of education leading toward the promotion of learning and understanding. The Islamic schools visited by this team are not far from the Cinta Baca library. The visiting team felt welcomed and safe and were very enthusiastic as they taught the children English. This then is one way Cinta Baca can be a blessing to the Palembang community in the future.
