Last Meeting of Kejar Cerdas at Imamul Mu'Minin Reading Post

Participants of the “Kejar Cerdas” program at the Imamul Mu’min Reading Post celebrated the final meeting of their class on May 10, 2014. All 10 meetings of this program ran smoothly even though many times the gatherings had to be postponed due to conflicting community or religious events.

The impact of this program could be seen by the growth of the students over this period and how reading has become a regular routine of their family life. At the closing gathering the kids, along with their parents participated in a number of games and activities to celebrate the completion of this program. The kids also thanked their parents with much enthusiasm, for these parents showed a strong commitment to continue to read to them and other members of the family throughout the program.

Reading has been shown to be one very powerful way to deepen both the knowledge of kids and adults, and we hope the habit of reading together continues in these families even though this program has come to a close.
